Hello from Bali! Indonesia is an amazing place! Bali is just one of 17,000+ of islands that make up Indonesia. The island is one of two that is Hindu in the entire country. We stayed in south Bali in the beach area of Seminyak for a week. We enjoyed the beautiful resort, the superb service and delicious food and drink! We visited the popular temple of Uluatu, the touristy beach of Nusa Dua, and another temple on our way up to the Ubud area. We really enjoyed our time here. Next we head north to the Ubud area where we were exposed to more of the Bali culture and had a very tranquil time in our bungalow in the middle of nowhere! Enjoy!

You know you are at a swanky champagne bar when your San Miguel beer is served like its a bottle of Don P! |
That's more like it. Bintang is the preferred beer in Bali. |
Nelson:"I think there is a quieter pool over on the other side of the hotel." He was right! |
Beautiful sunset in Seminyak. |
Our first Indonesian food encounter was delicious! Nasi Goreng... Rice with chicken, beef, and sausage! |
Same as above with fried egg and chicken satay on the side. |
Nelson taking in the beautiful beach. |
Walking through the touristy, expensive resorts of Nusa Dua looked like an article from Conde Nast travel magazine. |
We planted ourselves on some lounge chairs and took in the beautiful view. |

Busy worker raking up leaves. |
We may have let ourselves in to this beautiful resort pool! Nobody was around or seemed to care! |
Beautiful small local beach, Padang Padang, famous for its role in Eat, Pray, Love. |

Durians. A fruit that is incredibly tasty and smelly, so we have heard. Many just say its very smelly and not that tasty! |

Dead skin eating fish are very popular here! Just stick your feet in and let them feast! We were not brave enough for this and opted for a regular pedicure! |
A beautiful temple on our way up to Ubud. |
Interesting sculptures. |

Offerings to the Gods. These type of small offerings were all over the island. In front of shops, on the sidewalk, in the taxi cabs. |

OH MY!!!! I don't know where to start to comment, the photos are beautiful! The experience(s) beyond fathomable. I don't think I've ever seen either of you so spiritually rich before. The temple and architecture surrounding it are well preserved even through time and exposure to the elements. I want those DOORS!!! :)The flesh eating fish are an interesting hygiene/beauty process, but not for me either. The market fruit shopping is interesting, some of it reminds me of the "prickly" pear. I've never seen Nelson with so much hair, I prefer the shorter look. I'm glad to see you partaking in the cultural rituals and dress. "When in Rome"...The woman's traditional dress and performance looks lovely. The seascape, cliffs and ocean view are spectacular and do remind me of the high cliffs of Ireland and other costal cliffs throughout the world. God's beauty is everywhere. But the "copper sky" sunset with silhouettes are just "picture post card" perfect! The monkeys look like they do mean "business". Certainly wouldn't want to come between them and their lunch.
