Thailand Pt. 3: Island hopping from Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao!

Nelson and Allie on an elephant!
The islands off the east coast of Thailand... one of our favorite places! We flew into Koh Samui and took a boat to Koh Phangan. We spent a week in this very uninhabited island before heading to an even more remote island of Koh Tao. We truly enjoyed the locals on these islands and it helped us literally get away from it all! We rode an elephant, saw amazing beaches and sunsets, went snorkeling, and checked out this infamous Full Moon Party! Enjoy our pictures of these beautiful islands.

Ready for sun and sand... off to Koh Samui!
The men's bathroom in the Koh Samui airport. Nice way to welcome you to tropical paradise.
The beautiful sunset that awaited our arrival at the hotel in Koh Phangan. We stayed on the west coast of the island at Haad Yao, away from the touristy, party goers.
We took many motorbike rides! This was taken at our favorite fresh fruit smoothie stand. A woman with a table set up outside of her house.
This monkey was not very fond of Nelson!

This guy ate bananas so fast, the peel and all!

Speaking of fuel... welcome to the Thai gas station.
Stunning sunset.

We were spoiled with the beautiful sunsets every night.
No pier to dock the boat at? No problem, just jump off the side and walk to shore!
Beautiful beach.
A diver under our boat.

Enjoying a nice lunch at Bottle Beach.
Nelson taking the plunge.
We checked out the Full Moon Party. This occurs naturally every month on the full moon. The party is on the beach and usually goes until the sun comes up. We didn't quite make it until then!
Full Moon Party at Haad Rin
The Full Moon Party is known for their buckets. They sell buckets with a can of soda and small bottles of liquor. You make your own mix and then enjoy.
Nelson enjoying delicious coffee at his favorite coffee spot! We came everyday we were in Koh Tao!
Allie with the beautiful beach on Koh Tao.

We purchased a lantern that you write your wishes and hopes on, then light the center, and it floats up to the sky to make your wishes come true. Look for video to be uploaded soon as we send off our wishes.
This old dog was at our favorite cafe everyday. He was usually sleeping.

  1. What can I say? I want to be you :) How beautiful the Islands are. I don't think their gas station would pass our strict EPA standards and I'm not sure Frankie could find his 93 octane. It looks like you've mastered the motor bike pretty well, so I expect you to be the driver on our vespa in France.
The monkey looks like he gets into alot of trouble, ie. "monkey business".
And Dumbo looks adorable. One question on the Thai food, "Is it as good as Origins?"Oh the Places You Will Go! To think I took a trip around the world without leaving the states, thanks to you both :)
