Never Stop Exploring

Nelson and Allie visit Key West in August 2012

"Never Stop Exploring" is the saying that is printed on the handle of our luggage. Every trip we make that saying is staring us in the face. Its a wonderful reminder that life is truly a journey and that we should never stop seeking new adventures. That is just what we have been up to the past three years away from the blog and it is what we intend to keep doing!

Hello, blog followers! Since the proposal back in 2012, a lot has happened. We figured it was about time we catch the blog up to 2015. Some blog postings to expect in the future will be centered around:

  • The trip in closing: How we are different and where do we go from here?
  • Starting a New Life in Florida
  • Life as Husband and Wife
  • Turkey: OUR ultimate honeymoon destination
  • Panama: Carnival with the Panamanians
  • Colombia: An up and coming tourist destination
  • Fun travels throughout the diverse US

Even though the travel blog has been on hiatus, our adventurous lives have not. Let us catch you up...

  • May 2012, after getting engaged in Pianopoli, Italy we continued our round the world trip traveling through Italy, and continued our road trip back through the south of France through the north of Spain and over to Portugal. We spent the rest of May in Porto, Lisbon, a quick stop in Madrid, met Allie's parents in Barcelona, over to Montpellier, France and flew back to the US from Nice, France.
  • Upon arriving in June 2012, we were very changed individuals. We were very blessed to quickly have job opportunities in Florida. Needing a change from the hustle and bustle and quite costly life in the NewYork metro area, we decided to make the move to South Florida.
  • We packed up the car and drove down to Florida with great jobs lined up. We were completely settled in our new home in Florida by August 2012. We quickly made friends and became acclimated to all that living in Florida has to offer. We figured, if we don't like it, we can always move back. Quickly we learned, how in the world could we not like it?
  • We continued to feed our travel spirit by traveling all over the state of Florida any chance we got. We traveled to the Florida Keys, Tampa, Orlando, St. Augustine, Miami, Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We enjoyed many things unique to Florida such as spring training baseball, casual trips to the beach, jazz concerts outdoors in February, countless number of food and wine festivals, new restaurants, boat rentals, and deep sea fishing.
  • After half a year we knew we wanted to make Florida a permanent home and in September 2013 we purchased a home together. After months of renovations it is perfect for us and we couldn't be happier with our purchase and the place we have made a home.
  • On May 10, 2014, we were married outside of Orlando at a beautiful country club in the company of an intimate group of our friends and family.
  • Where do world travelers honeymoon? It was extremely difficult for us to choose a destination for our honeymoon. a few days after our wedding we left for Turkey and we feel it was the perfect honeymoon destination for us.
  • In 2015 we traveled to Panama and Colombia. The quick flights from Florida make Central and South America very accessible. We plan to share more about these journeys soon on the blog!
  • We are loving life in Florida. We have met so many new friends and there is always something going on and new things to see and do. The weather can't be beat either. We have truly embraced the 'post trip' chapter of our lives.

Thanks for checking back in, we hope to keep this blog a little more up to date in the coming months! We are quickly learning that home can be an amazing place to explore and create adventures.
